Safety and General Services Manager

Trillion is seeking a high energy self starter who has a desire to see fellow co-workers succeed in their jobs.  A person with the unique background of field safety, fleet and facilities management to join us as Safety and General Services Manager with the ability to travel at least 50% of the time.  The successful candidate will have the desire, knowledge and experience to develop and implement policies and procedures that are in compliance with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.  The position requires the ability to certify in tower climbing and rescue.  This position will also oversee the responsibilities regarding Trillion's fleet and facility maintenance.  The individual will have the opportunity to impact the entire organization while developing their own skill sets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety policies, practices and procedures for Trillion with regard to all company personnel.  Emphasis on tower and pole climbing, lock-out/tag-out, power tools, PPE, ladder safety, low voltage risk, weather safety, safe driving and safe work methods, and other related field safety topics.
  • Assist field management to plan and implement on-site safety programs
  • Inspect and monitor facilities/employee vehicles/employee practices to detect existing or potential accident, injury and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where needed and follows up to ensure controls have been implemented
  • Develop, implement and train managers and field personnel on policy and process for safety suggestions and  prompt reporting all accidents and injuries 
  • Investigates and records all safety violations, injury and accident incidents and suggests prevention measures adjusting policies and procedures where necessary
  • Produce safety management reports monthly, quarterly and annually on safety performance, identify any trends and ensure that there is an appropriate response to prevent future recurrence
  • Establish and participate in monthly Safety Committees.
  • Inspire and coach employees to accomplish safety goals.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality in regards to injuries and claims.
  • Continuously updates safety and technical training materials to ensure they are accurate and relevant
  • Documents all training in selected database, in a timely fashion
  • Provide feedback and direction to Field Service Managers and Technicians regarding safety and technical training needs
  • Must maintain climbing and safety certifications
  • Responsible for fleet maintenance including registration and state inspection of all vehicles, monthly maintenance reports from drivers, and ensuring all required forms and documentation is maintained in each vehicle.
  • Maintains relationship with fuel and maintenance plan vendors for vehicles.
  • Maintains office facilities and vendor relationships that include janitorial, commercial trash pickup, landlord contacts, etc.
  • Must be able to travel at least 50% of time across US
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

 

·     3-5 years Management and Safety experience

  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment
  • NATE Certified Pole/Tower Climber course completion preferred
  • Must pass physical to be able to climb poles and towers to heights of 140ft or more
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills w/ the ability to interact with all levels 
  • Advanced knowledge of Safety Standards -CFR 1926 and CFR 1910
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years
